Direct from Rio de Janeiro, Carlinhos Salgueiro is one of the most influential figures in Brazilian Carnaval and the visionary Artistic Director behind the legendary Passistas do Salgueiro.
Widely regarded as the gold standard of Samba no Pé, the Passistas do Salgueiro are renowned for their elegance, power, technique and unmistakable style. Under Carlinhos' leadership, the Ala de Passistas has won the prestigious Estandarte de Ouro for Best Ala de Passistas three times, cementing its place amongst the most celebrated and respected passista groups in Rio Carnaval.
Creator of the internationally acclaimed Samba Diva Method, Carlinhos has personally trained and influenced generations of elite dancers, including many of Rio de Janeiro's leading Passistas, Musas and Rainhas de Bateria. His students are recognised throughout Brasil and internationally for their technical excellence, confidence, stage presence and authentic carnival energy.
For decades, dancers from around the world have travelled to Rio de Janeiro to learn from Carlinhos and experience the methodology that has shaped some of the most admired samba performers on the Marquês de Sapucaí. His teaching goes far beyond steps and choreography; it is about attitude, posture, musicality, elegance, expression and the soul of samba.

Join Carlinhos Salgueiro, internationally known as the "King of Samba", for an exclusive open-level Brazilian Samba workshop at Pineapple Dance Studios.
Born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Carlinhos is the acclaimed Artistic Director and Choreographer of the Passista Ala at Acadêmicos do Salgueiro, one of Rio Carnaval's most prestigious samba schools. He is also the creator of the renowned Samba Diva technique and has taught and performed in more than 30 countries worldwide.
This unique masterclass will focus on the essence of authentic Samba no Pé, including technique, posture, musicality, expression and performance quality. Suitable for dancers of all levels who wish to experience the energy, elegance and spirit of Rio Carnaval directly from one of its greatest ambassadors.

This unique performance workshop focuses on expression, projection, confidence and commanding an audience.
Working alongside Carlinhos, dancers will learn how to transform technique into performance and develop the qualities that make a true Passista stand out on the Avenida.
The session will conclude with a live performance opportunity accompanied by a live bateria, where participants may perform individually or in small groups for Carlinhos and fellow students in a supportive and inspiring environment.
