Terms of Participation, Duty of Care & Code of Conduct

We are a social enterprise — a community-driven organisation that uses samba and Afro-Brazilian culture to create positive social impact, promote inclusion, and support cultural education.

Unlike traditional businesses, our focus is on benefiting people and the community rather than generating profit.

We’re thrilled to have you as part of our vibrant community, where we celebrate Afro-Brazilian culture through samba with respect, collaboration, and joy.

To keep this space positive and inclusive for everyone, please read and agree to the following:

1. Terms of Participation

By joining and participating in our activities,

events, and online groups, you agree to:

  • Respect the leadership and decisions made by the school’s organisers.
  • Communicate with kindness, openness, and respect towards all members.
  • Follow any event-specific guidelines or instructions given by the team.
  • Understand that participation is a privilege, not a right, and may be revoked if these terms are not met.

2. Duty of Care

Our school is dedicated to fostering a safe

and welcoming environment for all.

We have a duty of care to all participants to:

  • Promote respect, inclusivity, and cultural sensitivity.
  • Address any behaviour that undermines the well-being or safety of members.
  • Ensure all activities are conducted in a manner that protects physical and emotional safety.
  • Take appropriate action if any participant behaves in a way that disrupts the community or violates these terms.

3. Code of Conduct

We expect all members to:

  • Treat others with respect and dignity at all times.
  • Avoid any form of harassment, discrimination, or bullying.
  • Refrain from disruptive or disrespectful behaviour, including aggressive or rude communication.
  • Respect the cultural significance and traditions we honour through our samba practice.
  • Understand that repeated or serious breaches of this code may result in removal from the group and events.

Thank you for helping us maintain a positive, respectful community where samba and culture thrive!
